September 2009 Newsletter
Welcome
Welcome to the 2009-2010 Center Stage Dance Academy Dance Season. It’s great to
see so many new and familiar faces. Returning students, please take a moment to
introduce yourselves to all of the new CSDA Dancers and be sure to make them
feel welcome. As we enter our eighth season, we have our best year planned to
date!!! As usual, we will be having the Halloween Costume Party, we will march
in the Hatboro Holiday Parade and many CSDA dancers will be participating in The
Disney Performing Arts Workshop in Disney World, Orlando, FL. In addition The
New York City Dance Alliance is happening in March for those students interested
and it would be great to get to introduce new dancers to the convention scene!!!
Make sure to read all future newsletters and memos that are posted so you do not
miss out on any of the excitement!!!
Website
First things first…if you are a new student and have not had the opportunity to
visit our website and register your email address, please do so right away. As a
courtesy, everyone received this email in his or her studio mailbox. From this
date moving forward, all newsletters, memos and studio happenings will be sent
through email only. All information will be emailed along with being posted to
the website for reference. All dates will be posted to the studio calendar on
the website. Please get yourselves in the habit of visiting the site often!! You
will still have a studio mailbox where receipts and some student literature can
be found. If you have any questions or need help with your login, please submit
all issues on the contact us page of the website.
Stars of CSDA
At CSDA we want to showcase our dancers. Drop off a photo no larger than 4x6 to
be displayed on the studio bulletin board. It can be a old dance photo, a school
picture or just a fun snap shot. If you have photos with multiple CSDA dancers,
you can bring them too!!! The theme of the board this year is PHOTO FUNNIES!
Let’s fill up the board this year with your best silly moments!
Dress Code
All students are required to dress in the appropriate dance attire for their
respective classes. Please refer to the studio information and policies for the
dress code or ask your teacher. Hairstyles are part of dancers’ dress code.
Girls’ hair is to be pulled up and off the neck and out of dancers’ eyes for all
classes. Ballet students should arrive to class with their hair secured in a
ballet bun. A twisted ponytail secured with a hair band is not an acceptable
ballet bun. Please see an older dancer or your instructor if you are in question
as to what a ballet bun should look like.
Support Night at TGI Fridays Warrington

TGI Fridays (Warrington Location Only) anytime on Wednesday, September 16. 15%

developing proper placement, balance and foot-ankle-knee strength at the barre
aids in the correct execution of center exercises, turns and jumps. This class
is recommended for dancers with previous dance training only. At Center Stage,
we understand you have a busy schedule. Purchase a 10-class pass good through
December 31, 2008 and attend the 10 classes that are convenient for your

Fundraising
This month in your studio mailbox, you will find your Gianni’s Pizza and Snack
Combo Fundraising Packet. Each student will have the opportunity to earn 20% of
his or her total sales. In Addition CSDA support cards can be purchased and
sold. Cards are $10 and offer multiple discounts to various local businesses.
Cards do not expire until September of 2010 and they can be used over and over
again. Frank’s Pizza, Chick-fl-a, Philly Pretzel Factory and TGI Fridays are
just a few businesses that are offering great deals! Dancers will earn 40% credit
for each card sold! They may use that earned credit for CSDA logo wear, costume
deposits or towards tuition. In the past many students have or have come close
to eliminating costume payment though fundraising! As a reminder, you are not
required to fundraise…but have you ever tried Gianni’s Pizza?
Bring A Friend Week
From September 28 through October 3 Center Stage will hold bring a friend week.
Each student may invite one friend along to his or her regular classes. Friends
do not need to be dancers. Students will be expected to follow the dress code
this week, but if your friend does not have the required attire, they may wear
something comfortable in which they can move freely. Socks are fine too. All
friends must bring in a filled out emergency contact sheet that will be found in
your studio mailbox.
Tuition
Tuition is due on the 1st of every month. No individual statements will be sent
out unless your account has an outstanding balance. There will be a reminder
email sent out to everyone who has registered on the Center Stage website. A
$10.00 late fee will be added on the 5th of the month for any outstanding
balance. This includes checks that are dated on or before the 5th of the month
and received on or after the 6th of each month. Tuition will be accepted online
through the studio website using paypal. You may also contact George to set up
automatic withdrawal from your VISA, Mastercard, Discover or AMEX card. No
student will be permitted to attend class if tuition is more than 30 days past
due. Due to excessive delinquency in the past, this will be strictly enforced.
CSDA Gear
Watch your email and studio mailbox for CSDA Gear order forms. The first order
will be placed in order for gear to arrive for the Hatboro Holiday Parade in
November. Don’t forget, credit earned from the Gianni’s Pizza Fundraiser and
CSDA Support Cards can be used towards CSDA Gear!!!
